In Remembrance · March 18, 1937

We remember the students and teachers of the London School.

On March 18, 1937, a natural gas explosion destroyed the London School, taking the lives of nearly 300 students and teachers. Their loss changed Texas law and gas safety across the nation. A pink granite cenotaph, dedicated in 1939, stands in their honor on State Highway 42.
